LAMMA is Born
LAMMA — the Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association — began as a small agricultural machinery show dedicated to local manufacturers from the county.
The show launched at Lincolnshire Show Ground, and made a small profit from the outset, encouraging its organisers to establish it as an annual fixture.
The Move to Newark
As the show grew, LAMMA moved to Newark Showground, where it remained for 18 years, building its reputation as a fixture on the agricultural calendar.
East of England Showground
LAMMA relocated once again, this time to the East of England Showground at Peterborough, where it continued to run until 2019.
The Move to the NEC
The show moved to the NEC to provide more space and better facilities — a decision led by exhibitor and visitor demand for a more comfortable, practical experience. Exhibitors and visitors alike embraced the warm, weather-free environment.
Acquired by Agriconnect
Following the acquisition of LAMMA and Farmers Guardian from AgriBriefing (formerly Briefing Media) by Agriconnect, the show found a new home at the NEC Birmingham, where it is held annually today — a national institution bringing together farmers, manufacturers, innovators and policymakers for two days of discovery, networking and business.
A Landmark Year
Over four decades, LAMMA evolved into the country's largest and most influential exhibition for agricultural machinery, technology and equipment innovation. Its co-location with CropTec and Low Carbon Agriculture transformed the event into a true one-stop-shop for agriculture.
The success of this strategy was evident at LAMMA 2026, a landmark year for the show, achieving the highest attendance in its 44-year history.
The Next Chapter
LAMMA 2027 (20–21 January) is set to build on this legacy. At its core, LAMMA continues to exist to connect the farming community with the very latest in agricultural technology and advancement — from major global brands unveiling flagship machinery to niche manufacturers introducing specialist solutions.
It is widely regarded as the essential British destination to see exclusive launches, UK debuts and the full breadth of modern farming technology, all under one roof.
