Rachel Hayton
Rachel Hayton BSc (Vet Sci) BVM&S Cert CHP MRCVS is a vet and Research Lead at Synergy Farm Health. She is an Advanced Practitioner in Cattle Health and Production with 30 years of experience in farm animal practice and manages a variety of research projects relating to clinical and diagnostic approaches to infectious disease, nutrition, mastitis, lameness, and wound management. She has experience as an Innovate UK Project Lead and has worked on innovations such as the ImmunIGY calf-side IgG test and the Enferplex Bovine TB Antibody Test. One of her passions is investigating the equipment and training necessary to improve the welfare and handling of down cows. She collaborated with James Yeatman in the Innovate UK Research Starter project which developed and refined the Cow Recovery technique. A farm director of XLVet UK Ltd, she also sits on several industry committees relating to the responsible use of medicines including RUMA Targets Task Force and Medicine Hub. She maintains a special interest in sustainability and contributes to the Vet Sustain Food and Farming Group.
