UK Launch: Massey Ferguson 5S CVT Tractors to Debut at LAMMA 2026

UK Launch: Massey Ferguson 5S CVT Tractors to Debut at LAMMA 2026

A major transmission upgrade arrives for one of the UK’s favourite livestock tractor ranges

LAMMA 2026 is set to host the UK debut of Massey Ferguson’s long-awaited 5S Dyna-VT line-up, the first time the manufacturer has introduced its renowned CVT technology into the popular 5S series. Designed with livestock, vegetable, and specialist crop producers in mind, the new models bring seamless control, fuel efficiency, and high-spec performance to one of Massey’s most versatile tractor ranges.

CVT comes to the 5S Series

While Massey Ferguson has offered its Dyna-VT CVT transmission on higher-horsepower tractors for many years, its arrival on the 105–145hp 5S range marks a significant step forward for mid-sized tractors. All five 5S models will now be available with the new continuously variable transmission, offered alongside the existing Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 powershift options.

The new Dyna-VT setup features:

  • Single-range CVT with adjustable virtual ranges from 0–40km/h

  • Pedal or joystick control for flexible operation

  • 40km/h at just 1,550rpm, improving fuel economy

  • Two programmable virtual speed ranges selectable from the joystick

  • Customisable start-off speeds and two cruise speeds in both directions

  • Parklock as standard, ideal for stop-start livestock and yard tasks

Operators moving from larger Massey Ferguson Dyna-VT models will find the 5S system instantly familiar and just as intuitive.

Hydraulics, Lifting Power & Operator Control

All MF 5S Dyna-VT tractors come with:

  • 6,000kg rear lift capacity

  • 110L/min load-sensing hydraulics suited to loader work and demanding implements

  • 41L of removable hydraulic oil, supporting vegetable harvesters and high-demand external equipment

As with current 5S models, a micro-joystick on the Multipad controls valves one and two. Efficient models feature mechanically operated valves three and four, while Exclusive models offer full electronic fingertip control.

Maintenance intervals remain unchanged, 600 hours for the engine and 2,400 hours for transmission oil, keeping running costs predictable.

The new transmission option will be offered only on mid-range Efficient and top-spec Exclusive models. Buyers of base Essential-spec tractors will retain the existing powershift gearbox choices.
