On 20 and 21 January our wonderful charity staff and volunteers were on site to raise money at LAMMA show.

LAMMA is the UK’s largest farm machinery, equipment and agricultural services show. This year it was hosted at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

For 10 hours each day our staff and volunteers stood with their collection buckets receiving generous donations from the event’s organisers, general public and exhibitors. The figure raised has come in at £8244.82!

We started working with the event over 15 years ago when it was originally based in Lincolnshire, and then moved to Nottinghamshire, and are very grateful that the organisers have continued to support our charity now the event has moved to Peterborough’s Showground.

In previous years the weather has been extremely cold and wet, but this year it was a little kinder; it was only freezing cold!

Jim Vickrage, our Nottinghamshire Fundraising Manager says: “We’re continually grateful and surprised by the enormous generosity of LAMMA show’s Directors, Stuart Favill, the event’s Operations Director, the event exhibitors and attendees.

The sum raised this year is amazing and was partly due to the additional support by 6 volunteers from the Nottingham branch of EE, the mobile network operator. They opted to take a very chilly day out of the office to help their local air ambulance and made a huge difference in doing so.

“LAMMA is always a great event, organised by some incredible people and the amount raised more than makes up for the numb toes we get every year!”

Stuart Favill, LAMMA Operations Director says: “ We’re pleased to have a great association with the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. It is a very valuable service, particularly for farmers who often work alone and in hard to access areas.

“The speed at which casualties can be transferred to hospital, as we all know, is very important and often life-saving.

“We look forward to next year’s event and continuing the excellent relationship with our nominated charity, LNAACT.”

"We had a busy stand right from the word go, visitors were engaged by what we had to show them. I think LAMMA has been re-established as a more comfortable, more accessible ‘must attend’ show." Adrian Winnett, Argo Tractors
