The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) is the UK's only charity dedicated exclusively to improving farm safety and wellbeing. Established in 2014 by NFU Mutual, the charity works to reduce the number of life-changing and life-ending accidents in agriculture through three core pillars: prevention, education and cultural change.

By focusing on the next generation of farmers, Yellow Wellies challenges attitudes and behaviours around risk-taking and mental health, while equipping young farmers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to live well and farm well. Renowned for its innovative approach to learning, the charity develops and delivers free resources, training and campaigns that engage farming communities in meaningful and lasting ways.

As the organisation behind the national campaigns Farm Safety Week and Mind Your Head, Yellow Wellies has become one of the most recognised and trusted voices in farm safety and wellbeing. Today, the charity is recognised by 95% of UK farmers under the age of 40 (2026 UK Farm Safety & Wellbeing Tracker, n=750), demonstrating its significant reach and influence despite its small size. Through its work, Yellow Wellies continues to drive positive change across the industry, helping to create a safer and healthier future for farming in the UK.
