Being proficient in the operation of post drivers is important for contractors and farm operatives looking to secure boundaries with fencing. The incorrect use of post rammers can result in serious injuries and damage to equipment.
The NPORS N041 Post Rammer Training will equip you with the knowledge and practical experience for the safe and effective operation of post rammers and can be tailored to the needs of both novice and experienced learners. It covers health and safety responsibilities, pre- and post- operation checks, safe operating across various ground conditions and PPE.
Upon successful completion of training and testing, participants will obtain an NPORS Operator Card.
Learning Outcomes:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator.
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
- Be able to locate the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
- Conduct all pre-occupational and running checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements.
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for post rammer use.
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area and set up an exclusion zone.
- Prepare the post rammer for use and operate safely and efficiently.
- Environmental considerations.
- Storage and transport of attachments.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
- Carry out all end of work and shut down procedures.
