NPORS Agricultural Tractor Training

This practical course focuses on the safe and efficient operation of agricultural tractors. It is suitable for both novice and experienced farm workers who need certification. Upon successful completion of training and testing, participants will obtain an NPORS Operator Card.
The NPORS N601 Agricultural Tractor training covers a number of areas including health and safety legislation, tractor operation across different terrains, pre- and post- operation checks, manoeuvring and adjusting / changing attachments.
Learning Outcomes:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator.
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
- Be able to locate the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
- Conduct all pre-occupational and running checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements.
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for agricultural tractor use.
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
- Prepare the agricultural tractor for use and operate safely and efficiently.
- Attach and set trailed, mounted and power take off drives ready for work.
- Environmental considerations.
- Storage and transport of attachments.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
- Carry out all end of work and shut down procedures.
The training is delivered by a network of NPORS Accredited Training Providers – spanning across the UK and beyond. All training providers and instructors are rigorously monitored and audited, making sure instructors consistently deliver to NPORS standards.
