Richard Western set to show new developments at LAMMA – Stand number 6.230
- New sheet system for Suffolk silage trailers
- Nurse tank displayed in light of increased demand
- Drill filler has universal arable and livestock applications
New trailer developments and products attracting increased interest due to changing farming practices will be among the highlights on the stand of Richard Western, the Suffolk-based trailer and manure spreader specialist, at LAMMA 2026. In addition, the firm will be showing its established Delilah Spreader vertical beater and horizontal beater manure spreaders, the latter equipped with spinning discs for users looking to spreader materials with high accuracy at up to 24m.
New double flip silage sheet option
Shown on large diameter 600/55 R26.5 tyres for maximum flotation, the SF18HS Super Suffolk silage trailer exhibited will feature the new Richard Western double flip sheet. This development ensures chopped material is securely retained and not exposed at high transport speeds where it could potentially be blown from the trailer and cause a road safety issue. The two-piece design, which is light and quick to operate, is hydraulically-operated from a double-acting supply, with a pair of robust steel structures providing the framework for strong polypropylene sheeting that ensures chopped crop is quickly secured and protected from spillage risk and wind.
Nurse tank debut
With rising demand for the Richard Western Nurse Tank as businesses seek ways of improving the logistics of liquid application to land, the company is showing one of its units at LAMMA for the first time. The 50 cu m Richard Western NT50 qualifies for Government grants, and is built to a dual-purpose design which means it can also be used for transport during the silage season.
Specification includes multiple inlet/outlet points, sight glasses, a full-opening hydraulic tailgate, and a hydraulic tipping body for efficient sediment emptying, with a single-displacement tipping ram. Steel is protected via shot-blasting before a two-pack primer and top-coat are applied.
The NT50 tri-axle model comes with BPW axles with standard rear- and optional front-axle steering. Recommended 600/55 R26 tyres match the NT50’s large carrying capacity, which – when used as a stationary nurse tank – can represent a slurry weight of 50 tonnes in addition to the NT50’s unladen 10 tonnes. Six wheels and two hydraulic jack legs provide full and robust support. The Richard Western hydraulic drawbar is a recommended option on all tri-axle models trailers, providing improved ride and tractor traction on uneven ground.
Hopper trailer has dual uses
Shown in response to increasing demand, the Richard Western DF hydraulically driven hopper trailer has both livestock and arable applications. The unit is well-suited to work as a drill filler for high-output seeding, and equally to dispensing feed on, for example, outdoor pig units.
Models are available with capacities of 8, 10 and 12 tonnes, with the two larger versions featuring a trough type hopper with feed auger. A manually-engaged hydraulic motor operates the dispensing auger. Safe hopper access is assured by a ladder and mesh grid, and a waterproof cover is supplied.
