LAMMA has enabled businesses to grow and develop from its beginnings as a small show in Lincolnshire. And through much growth and changes of venue, that has stayed the same.
"It was indeed most encouraging to see firms from all over the county supporting this prestigious event. During my enjoyable visit, I was able to speak to most of the exhibitors, many of whom come year after year. It is obvious they come because it is the best way to advertise and an excellent opportunity to do business."
Councillor Zena M. Scoley, Lincolnshire County Council (1989)
It is almost a whole year since the launch of #LAMMA365!
Time has flown by this year. For the hottest ag machinery, news, reviews, trending videos, manufacturer's directory & more, LAMMA 365 has STILL got you covered.
What was on offer at the second ever LAMMA show in '83? Across 55 stands, firms from across Lincolnshire displayed their newest innovations.
Exhibitors also had the chance to win the first ever competition at LAMMA for best new product brough to market. This was won by F.A. & J. Jones & Son for its 'Safe-Tip' dump trailer, which claimed to eliminate vertical jack-knifing through an improved weight transfer system and wheel positioning.
The kit on show at LAMMA '83 included (shown in order):
1. 'Safe-Tip' dump trailer from F.A. & J. Jones & Son
2. Angle Sweep unloading auger from Gray Grain
3. Electronic humidity metre from Chandler Farm Electronic & Instruments
4. Flow Drop Warning Sensor from Romsey Soil Injection
5. Weed beet/seedy beet puller with sensor activated hydraulic ram from Hauseham
LAMMA is an essential date in the calendar for manufacturers.
"LAMMA is the most important trade show for us in the UK. This exhibition gathers many important players in British agriculture," says Jeanne Longueville of Sencrop. #40daysofLAMMA
The move to the Birmingham NEC meant that all stands were under cover for the first time. The show filled 11 halls with 700 exhibitors.
Many were happy to be out of the January weather - one visitor said "Absolutely fantastic, what a difference compared to walking around in the cold!"
From the beginning, LAMMA has helped small manufacturing businesses in Britain get a leg up in the industry and grow their market to new levels...
In our 'Founders Fireside Chat' series, Robert Willey of Househam Sprayer reflects on how his business benefitted from attending LAMMA from the beginning. Unique to LAMMA was the opportunity to interact directly with the people who actually operated their machinery, allowing Househam to get valuable feedback on the user experience and improve their products!

The line-up includes working widths of 3m, 4m, 4.5m, 4.8m, 5m and 6m and has a range of new features including hydraulic seed depth adjustment and improved access to the metering unit for easier calibration.
